Man, it really has taken me a while to get back to the forums. Every time I think I'm going to get around to actually writing again, something comes up and it gets too busy for me to write anything I'd consider worthwhile, even for a casual/informal thread.

That said, since these things are sort of time-sensitive, I'm going to at least make a point of getting the usual watchlists and simple rankings out there.

However, I'm still not quite ready to give this topic the attention I want, so I'll resist the temptation to write up my thoughts on the shows in question and just stick to simple rankings and watchlists for now.

So there we go. That pretty much covers everything I watched or specifically stopped watching for the Summer 2016 anime term/season. Again, I'm not going to describe or rate anything right now, or even explain the rankings.

Although that may be better. Sort of a nice change of pace to just list a ranked-but-unscored watchlist that can more or less speak for itself. Quite a few close calls in the main watchlist, but I stand by that specific ranking.

Wow...that watchlist looks pretty short now that I look at it without including Spring 2016 shows I caught up on and other shows I spent time re-watching or otherwise checking out.

While I'm at it, I'm going to go ahead and make a provisional watchlist for the Fall 2016 anime season while it's still fairly fresh. I still haven't checked out every show I intend to, and of course there are a few late-starters to account for, but here we go...

And there it is. I'm not sure how I'm going to account for specials and shorts. It seems a bit odd if not outright unfair to include them in a ranked watchlist next to more fleshed-out shows, and yet this season actually has some pretty great shorts. There are at least a few that can compete with the heavyweights, as it were.
