| So, as alot of us know I have been after that Link dlc bow ever sine i heard of its awesome powers, now while im hearing the hunting horn and glaive stop being good past high rank midway, the Legend of zelda dlc weapons(not so much armor), are hidden behind a troll wall. you can do this dlc once you hit HR4!
DONT ITS A TRAP.
chances are you wont be able to kill Akanator. I have had groups with G rank gear and still failing to bring him down in 30 minutes due to many of his moves being a OHKO, of his combos being able to KO you. I doubt a full team of HR4 could kill this guy...(atleast it will take them most of the time).
That being said each time you complete the quest you are awarded 1 goddess fire, tho more then one can appear in a drop, only 1 is guaranteed. The SnS and bow need 6 goddess fires in their upgrade path, so if your unlucky u need 6 Akantor kills. Then you need a Akantor Gem(1% drop rate) for them, and their later upgrades need gems/mantles from other monsters(gore, s.gore, daora, teostra and gravios). Both being really good weapons Capcom made sure that only the dedicated or the non beginner/cosplayers of the Monster Hunter game will never touch the last upgrades of the dlc weapons.
***This being said i normally have bad luck, Ive had to kill him 6 painful times, and got 5 of his Akantor gems*****
***Also the last group i was with on my final run took down Akantor in 3-5 minutes approx*** | |

| When I heard it involved killing Akantor, I figured it'd be tough, but that tough? Sounds more like they threw G-Rank Alatron at us than something for HR4s. | |

| That quest really does sound amusing. Akantor seems brutal. I'm still on the fence about whether I want to make its GS or not. As for the event stuff...obviously I'd probably make the bow on my alt character, but on my GS-only character, I doubt I'll be making those event items at all. This Akantor...I haven't so much as watched a video of it, because I'm not sure I want to spoil the epic factor when I finally fight it...but the stories always sound wicked. | |

| It seems to me that his slowness is really an illusion. He only seems slow due to his size. He's almost as fast as a running hunter at full gait. It tricks you into thinking he's slow. | |
